ABOUT NaMaSTe Study

  • South Asians in BC are twice as likely to be diagnosed with diabetes compared to the Caucasians and Chinese populations.

  • NaMaSTe diabetes is a research study for South Asians withpoorly controlled Type 2 diabetes in Surrey.

  • 60-65% of South Asian patients living in BC do not adhere to their diabetes medications vs. 30-35% of general population.

  • We aim to improve medication adherence and diabetes control through a culturally tailored intervention including the family member, provision of peer support, and diabetes education.

  • For more information, please call the Study Coordinator at 778-387-3100.
